What Exactly Is True Love?

Loving someone is not as difficult as it seems,if you would only look beyond their flaws and imperfections. Many times, loving someone comes with a condition and this should not be, because our kind of love as Christians is unconditional.

You like someone because of one thing or the other. But, you love although they do the things you don’t love. There’s a difference between liking someone and loving someone. If you like someone, you only love them based on a particular attraction or ephemeral emotion towards them, and when this temporary emotion is gone or their nice looks no longer exist, this love disappears. But when you love, you love beyond their faults and regardless of their flaws. You do not love them for a reason, it is unconditional.

You want to find true love but you still love people because of a particular trait they possess, it’ll be really difficult. You come to find love not by finding the perfect person, but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly.

Look beyond the flaws and love people. Flaws and weaknesses are what make a complete human, everyone is shy of perfection in one way or the other. Nobody wants to be unable to fully express themselves in a relationship, this is why you must be willing to love beyond flaws and help the other person work towards perfection in love.

Loving someone else in the right way, is a factor of how you love yourself. If you can learn to love yourself and all the flaws, you will be able to love others so much better. You will never be able to appreciate someone else if you never even appreciate yourself.

In all that you do, whichever way you choose to show love, be sure to not deviate from God’s model.

God loves you beyond your flaws, imperfections and shortcomings, yet He seeks to make you better. You should love others beyond their flaws, imperfections and shortcomings. Love people not only for what they are, but what they are not and seek to make them better.
