15 Bible Verses That Speak Of The Second Coming Of Christ

Christians all over the world find solace in the fact that whether in life or in death, we will be with Jesus one day. Of course we have His Holy Spirit living with us, but one day, we will all be united with our Lord and the whole world will see Him in all His glory. It is an event that Christians should anticipate and a promise that we should hold on to.

These fifteen verses of the Bible speak of the second coming of Jesus Christ:

1. Acts 1:11

Which also said, ‘Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.’

2. 1 Corinthians 4:5

Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men’s hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.’

3. 1 Corinthians 11:26

‘For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.’

4. Colossians 3:4

‘When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.’

5. 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20

‘For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you? Indeed, you are our glory and joy.

6. 1 Thessalonians 3:13

‘May he strengthen your hearts so that you will blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all His holy ones.’

7. 1 Thessalonians 5:23

‘May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

8. 2 Thessalonians 2:8

‘And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendour of His coming.’

‘We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.’

14. Revelations 1:7

‘Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.’

15. Revelation 3:11

‘I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it.’
