What Is Your Meditation?

We all meditate on something; be it the word of God, a TV series, an immoral novel or words of advice from pals. It is in our meditations we grow and live life at large. It is those things we have knowledge of that we act out. We can as well define a man by the things he dwells on. Proverbs 23:7 For as a man thinketh in his heart so is he It is a simple principle. What you take in will become of you with time. What is your meditation? Most often, we commit to memory particular verses of the Bible for years and the revelation of what it means doesn’t occur to us until we take time out on it. I knew “Psalms 23: 1 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want” like the back of my hands but I lacked the in depth knowledge of what it meant to have a someone who will take care of all your wants. It is one thing to read the bible, it is another to allow God speak to you through the bible. 2 Cor 3:6 … for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life Satan reads the bible too, but he doesn’t understand a thing. He lacks the understanding of how it works; he lacks the spirit of God that gives life; unlike us, the luckiest creation ever. We cannot understand the Bible except we invite the author; and that is achieved during meditation. The voluntary action to meditate on God’s word produces fruits, prosperity and good success. It is after we meditate that we know those things that are holy, pure and true. Don’t ask God for help to renew your mind if you’re not ready to put your all in it. God watches the heart. He knows the genuine ones. It is what I feed my mind with that becomes of me with time. Life would have been much easier if God would just send “another Son” of his to come die for our lackadaisical attitude towards meditation. You know, since our salvation was free so our work towards serving God should be free also. Everything should just be free. There is no Middle, we are either here or there… You know, sometimes I wish God will just open my brain and put the whole Bible there but no; The best God can do and has done is surround us with materials that will upgrade our life… it is what we delight in that we will run after. If we remain so busy with the things of this world that we stop delighting in the law of the Lord, we miss out of the goodies and we find something else to meditate on. The thing is, when it comes to God, there are no fences. You are either here or there. Remember, everyone is meditating on something… Finally, my readers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — meditate on such things.
